I have recently started an online store,to promote my items and the happy clothes campaign,i have combined the above with my lifelong poliyical cause, that of  "save palestine". I hope this will be a great jumpstart for me,here's the link, check it in about a month,HOPE YOU BUY SOMETHING!

Thursday, 27 November 2008

well hello there fellow thinkers, makers, politicians? lol anyway,i know its been a while,But i had to wait till something big came along, and it has.
I have started a new campaign, called the "happy clothes" campaign,i am on a mission to create a movement,to ensure that all major brands embrace the happy clothes campaign. This entails, creating healthy, bright working environments and creating a better life for their workers in 3rd world countries. If you are a massive fashion company,or corporation, then why not help the world? It can help your image and your rep,as well as millions of people, lets move now.You don't have to be a multimillion dollar corporation, you can be an individual, think about your purchasing trends, just think where your clothes are coming from and try to buy happy clothes, green ,eco friendly and most importantly labour friendsly clothes,
check out threads for thought for starters! much love peeps!
Here is a short animation i produced as an idea, for a commecial for the happy  clothes campaign, the song is by the shins and is called caring is creepy, which i thought was really releveant. The idea was to have two happy ,cheesy presenters talking about the campaign
and then, taking you on a tour
of country x,the sad country and country y the happy country.
they reach country x and everyone is ugly and angry,
they meet their factory boss
 who will not communicate,
then everyone starts a mass protest, they join in.
Now to country y,evryones bright,and happy,their bosse
s are helpfull and hire all of country x,to make happy clothes, every
one rejoices and they start the happy clothes campaign!
enjoy,

the arab conscience

this is a video, that all the famous Arabic singers did to raise awareness about the occupation issue, unfortunately none of them thought of translating it into English! the video footage speaks for its self though,i hope this grasps you interest,it is called 'al dhameer alarabi' or
'the Arabic conscious'. thanks for watching

the invisible land is getting more drowned each day

well, wow this has been one hell of a project! from its numorouse tutorials,to its endless trips and phone calls to arab newspapers, and charectertuists. its been a long fruitfull journey.
ill stat talkingabout my research,i spent hours and dys ,looking on line tediousely, and well reluctantly at pictures of death, abuse and torture, everyday i became more aware of this huge problem, thats why it got even more complex! when you are a attached emotionally to a subject its extermely hard to be objective, and not to forget that there is a brief, although this is nt a new topic for me,i had not touched on it for quite some time.i then started goint to the library, taking trips to london ,looking through arabic bookstores there talking to old friends who are palestinian,i felt like my head was going to explode!
its amazing how ,with all that is out there on this topic from books by westerners even,to dvds to bbc documentaries, its as silent as the night.
i then had the amazing oppertunity, after many phone calls and emails and annoying delays,to interview an insiring artist who is greatly familar with the subject.
but the problems didnt just vanish,no! i had all this tuff! so much stuff! in my head,in my bag,but what was i supposed to do with it!there was too much going on,and then ontop of that, this interviewee, decided to review the interview first, even though he didnt answer half my questions,he took forever to get the intervie back to me,well to be percise i only just recieved it this monday!
i feel like a madwoman, running around and theres just never enough time,i want to do more i want to learn more,i want to print t shirts out on this topic,i have created a charecter and i want her to shine in a way.
i have faced so many problems on this project, both personal and general, technical issues were there obviousely, trying to learn a new programme single handedly, well im not that great on computers to begin with, but atleast i learnt something new,i tried and failed at the toonboom thing miserably but i tried.
another issue i was finding diffcult was how to actually present the palestinian issue in little words and something unforgetable? i came up with so many ideas, all which got trashed ,and i ended u with one:postcards, yes postcards!
they are everywhere, everyone picks them and sticks them on theyre wall, they are inspiring and remind you of so much.
my main idea was to do 6,but then i cut that down to 4 fronts an two backs,my charecter guides you through paelstine in a way,her name is amal, which means hopes in english, she is seen first of all hanging on for dear life,to an olive tree, each card has information on it,and i would be pleased to provide more. then she is seen with an olive branch which she managed to salvage from the carnage, looking over a poor babies corpse, moving on shes guiding the children of palestine to peace and finally ending up crashing the gates of jeruselum with all its children, the rightfull owners of the holy land, and well, having hope!
i am going to carry on with this project,i have already created another caherecter who is her half brother,he is an algerian boy of 14 who died, but follows hope around! so watch this space.

i hope i find out what time im handing this stuff in! otherwise ll this would have gone down the drain academicaly speaking.

tis has been a gret project,i was fully emersed in it,and well i didnt want it to end,i have confidence in my research and i am proud of what ive learnt through this eotional experience i even got books sent from egypt!
till next time!

the invisible land

hi again peeps!
so i am back again with new project! this time its one that i feel very deeply about, maybe that's why its so hard,i havent really been able to do much aboot it! it is such a huge topic ,yhat shamefully i was thinking about running a way from the challenge, but then i said to myself,if i run away from this ill nver make it as an illustrator and id be letting all those that died for this cause down, you see if i run a way then another person somewhere in the world, will run away too,and another, and so on.
so i'm here...the topic is palestine, the subjects, are millions of loast souls and dead eyes,it is dark and humid,it is loud and smelly,it is vast and vibrant,it is a country, the invisible land, that news cameras fly past, reporters ignore and governments stomp on,they are an invisible people.the land and its people are being cut to pieces, just like they're preciouse olive trees.
so i'm here, and im ready, and i will try my hardest to them justice.for beleif in oneself is the start to many great things to come.
the approach:
the idea here is to communicate that there is a problem,to show the negligence of that problem and spark a memory for people to look back on.
it is to get the wheel of thought moving in the right direction,to atleast start a whisper that will eventually turn into a well heard yell!
i am thinking of incorparating stills and a short 2 d animation with a black and white charecter.maybe as a tour guide.
